The Digestion Wars - Probiotics VS Indigestion, Constipation and Heartburn
Louis Pasteur was Mick Jaeger of nineteenth century science.
And that's good. But Rock Star, he was, he made the word synonymous with bacterial disease, a misimpression that is still with us today.
Do not be fooled, there definitely are bad bacteria. But in a healthy body, there are trillions of bacteria are good (yes, this is a T), which many of the critical elements for good health and vitality. These microscopic microbes are powerful probiotics (for life), and without them or without enough of the bad guys take over and life is miserable right.
While Pasteur discovery of the germ theory of disease received wide publicity and recognition, the discovery of the healthy side of the force has a lot more time to the public consciousness.
Oh, the years of needless heartburn.
Maybe it was because of the discovery of life benefits of probiotics, a microbiologist and 1908 Nobel Prize Winner named Ellie Metchnikoff, was a Russian - not popular PR celebrities even then.
But what the reason, Metchnikoff, curious, what some people live longer than others, studied the astonishing number of people who live in Bulgaria to more than 100 years old. He pursues the secret of the longevity of probiotics contained in the fermented yogurt they ate.
Ellie, we love you, man.
As you might ask, could a number of bugs, microscopic bugs on that people live longer?
Let us count the ways:
probiotics - beneficial microbes - break food into its basic elements, the nutrients through the digestive system:
They strengthen the immune system, so that the body for a better control of diseases;
They help, constipation;
They reduce the possibility of infection by common pathogens (Bad Bugs);
the Bio-availabity of nutrients (which means they help the nutrients into the cell with more ease, if they produce the physical energy of life);
They promote recovery from diarrhea;
you clean the intestines;
They help kill viruses and parasites;
to prevent yeast and fungal infections,
, because it improves the digestion of vitamins,
They inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria;
help you, certain B vitamins.
Not bad for a couple of bugs in the size of a micron (there are one million microns in a meter - or on the side, over 25,000 bacteria in a duty - we Talkin 'very, very small).
your gut should be around 85% good bacteria and 15% poor. But chlorinated water, the presence of antibiotics in the food we eat and medical treatments we take, and other factors can wreck of chaos in the gastrointestinal track, throwing your digestive completely off balance.
On days like that you prefer on the pyre burned.
As already mentioned, yogurt can be a good source of probiotics.
Pasteur, who discovered the effects of bad bacteria, was French. Metchnikoff who discovered the benefits of good bacteria, was Russian. But it went on a little-known Japanese scientist named Teruo Higa to this combination of beneficial microorganisms that are revolutionary in a relationship and thus the human bodies hum like Lance Armstrong in the Tour de France.
what means?
Stay with me here because they are good.
The extraordinary microbe in this random collection of bacteria from the Far Side - the leader of the pack, so to speak, is the photo tropic microbe. Fascinating essence, this error was here before there was oxygen on the planet. In fact, it is anaerobic (hates oxygen).
As you may ask, is a living organism survive without oxygen?
In a simple act of adaptive Darwinian brilliance, it consumed what is happening in the environment: epicurean delights like carbon dioxide, ammonia, methane and hydrogen sulfide. And still does.
And in case that the bulb is not on, as you read that, take note that these are all today's toxins. In other words, we have here a microbe that thrives on poisons and pollutants.
But that is only half the fun: In a performance that confirmed the planet Mother Nature actual environmental cost Magic Maker, these microbes excrete oxygen, amino acids, antioxidants and other substances that make life.
Green Peace loves you baby!
Now watch this ...
The other members of the group are aerobic (oxygen-loving) bacteria. Check out this teamwork. The aerobic bacteria consume the oxygen through the photo tropic bacteria. These, in turn, give, that is true ... Carbon dioxide, food for the photo tropic bacteria - which it is easy to consume. And so you have this revolutionary relationship - a symbiotic union of beneficial bacteria - which, like an organic PacMan, goes survey by the environment in which it finds itself, devouring toxins and pollutants and the types of amino acids, vitamins, trace elements, enzymes and antioxidants .
Think of a team of microbes that: 1) the presence of toxins and prosperous environmentally harmful elements in your digestive track 2) generation of antioxidants and other healthy products of this and 3) overcoming pathogenic (bad) all on bugs the same time.
Who would have thought ... ancient, toxin-eating microorganisms and their organic by-products, the improvement of living benefits for the people in the 21st Century. Something to be kind of cool.
